교육목적
대학원 무용학과는 경희대학교의 교육이념인 문화세계의 창조라는 교육이념 하에 전인교육, 정서교육, 과학교육, 민주교육을 통한 지도자 양성의 대학원 교육목적을 토대로 과학과 예술을 추구할 수 있는 능력을 배양하고 창조적인 예술활동인 공연과 이론을 겸비한 우수한 전문 무용인을 배출해냄으로써 인류 사회의 정서에 기여할 수 있는 석학을 육성하는데 목적이 있다.

| 발레 | 고전발레를 기초로 한 철저한 테크닉연구와 아울러 포스트 모더니즘적 모던발레의 창작연구에 주안점을 둔다. |
| 무용이론 | 이론전공은 무용에 대한 포괄적이며 이론 및 예술학, 민속학, 경영학 등 교육을 풍부하게 병행하여 무용미학, 예술사조, 공연예술경영 등 각 분야에서 다방면의 지식과 소양을 갖춘 이론 지향을 양성하는데 목표를 둔다. |
| 한국무용 | 전통무용과 신무용이 남겨준 무용형태를 재해석하는 의미에서 80년대부터 본격적으로 등장한 창작무용계열의 작품을 비교, 분석하는 가운데 한국무용의 올바른 진로를 모색한다. |
| 현대무용 | 창작법·즉흥법을 통한 교육프로그램 개발, 현대무용사, 현대무용공연제작이론, 현대무용테크닉, 안무법, 예술관련 분야와 융복합, 커뮤니티 댄스, 무용사회복지, 마케팅, 저작권 등의 다분야로 진출할 수 있는 프로그램 개발 연구 확대 |
| 무용치료 | 무용치료 전공은 대체 의학적 관점에서 한국의 전통적인 의학의 관점에서 착안된 기무(氣舞) 프로그램을 활용한 무용학과 한의학의 융합을 시도하는 한국적 무용치료학의 연구영역이다. 따라서 인문학, 의학, 심리학, 한의학, 기능학, 해부학 등과 같은 다양한 학문과 무용움직임 방법론의 융합을 시도하여 현대 사회에서 무용의 치료적 역할 및 효과에 관한 연구에 중점을 둔다. |

| 무용철학 및 미학 | (Dance Philosophy and Aesthetics) | 현대 철학에서 새롭게 조명 받는 해체철학을 중심으로 한 무용미학연구에 주안점을 둔다. 특히 포스트 모더니즘의 횡행이란 무질서를 전태미학적 무용표현에 접근시키기 위한 철학적 탐색을 연구의 기본으로 삼는다. This course places emphasis on the dance aesthetics focusing on deconstructionism which is newly noticed in modern philosophy. Especially, basic research of this course is philosophical inquiry into chaos, the rampancy of post modernism, and its approach to aesthetical dance expression. |

| 안무법연구Ⅰ | (Choreographic ResearchⅠ) | 공연계획, 대본, 안무, 분장, 무대장치 및 단과적인 이론적 배경을 중심으로 한 공연기획 선정, 공연흥행 등등 일체에 대한 방법등을 연구한다. 작품실습을 통해 얻어진 형상원리와 지식을 바탕으로 이를 무대에 실현함에 따라 종합예술활동으로서의 실기적인 측면에서 연구한다. This course studies on the methods of various features of art performances such as selection of plans and its practical performance focusing on planning, scripts, choreography, stage settings, and the fragmentary theoretical background. Choreography is researched from the practical aspect as a composite art through performing on the stage based on the principle and knowledge of dance expression with practical trainings. |

| 무용평론Ⅱ | (Dance Criticism) | 비평과 감상을 전제로 한다. 따라서 바르고 정확한 감상은 바로과 정확한 비평의 기저가된다. 본 교과목은 무용비평의 원리, 비평을 위한 작품에의 접근방법, 비평의 유형과 그 장단점 등을 심층있게 고찰합으로써 비평예술과 창조예술의 혼화로운 조화와 상부상조의 이상을 현현해 갈 수 있는 능력을 개발할 목적 아래 개설된 교과목이다. Criticism is premised on appreciation. Therefore, honest and precise art appreciation is the basis of accurate criticism. This course studies the principles of dance critique, approaches to performances for critique, types of critique and its pros and cons in depths for developing the capacity of harmonizing criticism arts with creative arts and realizing ideal of mutual help. |

| 무용세미나 | (Dance Seminar) | 동서양의 작품 및 동양을 연구하고 기존 논문 및 작품을 대상으로 한 안무가의 창작기반을 분석하며 논리적인 조형기반능력을 기르기 위한 과목으로 무용지도법 등 다양한 현 무용계의 교과과정을 세미나 형식으로 이끌어간다. This course is a seminar to study various modern dance curricula including dance instruction, and aims to research on eastern and western performances and their trends, analyze existing theses and performances about choreographers ' bases of creativity, and develop logical formative ability. |

This course seeks the method of folklore dance through overall consideration about folklore dance such as its concepts, significance and challenges, and studies specific features of the flow of tradition and the origin of Korean dance with practical trainings. |
